PC Muscle Exercise Videos

There are many instructional videos on the market today illustrating PC muscle exercises, including the Kegel exercises, for women. Typing in keywords such as “pubococcygeus muscle exercises videos” and “Kegel exercise videos” in any online search engine will bring up a wealth of such films available to purchase, rent, and stream online.

Videos are readily available to purchase and cost anywhere from $39.99 to $139.99, and DVD or videocassettes are easy to find. Many Kegel exercise products for women such as the barbells, springs, rubber balls, cones, and Benwa balls come with instructional videos to teach women how to use the devices properly in the privacy of their own homes.

When utilizing instructional videos on PC muscle exercises, make sure to follow the directions closely; it is nearly impossible to injure oneself performing the exercises, but for maximum comfort and impact, make sure to follow all directions. Such videos usually include instructions on assembling the specific device, along with illustrations as to proper insertion and diagrams illustrating proper lifting and clenching techniques.

When performing PC muscle exercises along with a video, make sure to isolate the PC muscles and use only them to perform the exercises. Using the abdominal, buttock, thigh, or back muscles to execute the exercise only defeats the purpose of the motions and will not tone the desired muscles. With many of the devices, if it feels during the beginning stages that it does not require any effort to hold the device in place, the device most likely was inserted too far up the vaginal cavity, resulting in it tipping over (mainly in the instances of cones ).

If the device has a weight, such as a cone or rubber ball, begin with the largest device in the set and with the least amount of weight or no weight at all. Insert the device until it can no longer be felt, much as when inserting a tampon. When it cannot be felt any more, placement is correct. In cases with devices such as balls or cones, if the device falls out easily or quickly, the woman is using the wrong muscles. Instead of bearing down, most likely with the abdominal muscles, imagine lifting up, isolating the pubococcygeus muscles.

The barbell is usually the easiest to use for beginners, as its exercises are performed lying down on the back and attempting to raise the barbell towards the ceiling in a lifting motion. There is little to no chance of it falling out, as gravity is not a form of resistance because the barbell itself weighs so much (no less than a pound, usually around 14.5 oz). In the case of Benwa balls, beginners can insert a single ball and become familiar with the feel of carrying it around.

After a while, inserting both balls to carry simultaneously will provide a challenge. Many women can insert one or both balls and carry on with the rest of their day; they are worn while sitting and standing, and after the woman is familiar with them, during exercise, even during intimacy.

If the device does not come with an instructional video, almost all of them will come with printed instructions, often including diagrams. Many of these devices are available in drugstores and at doctor’s offices, as well as through online stores. There are products marketed as sex toys, including vibrators and other barbell-like devices that offer the same type of muscle strengthening and toning, but often cost much more than simpler, less designer products.

When choosing a device, many women prefer to begin with the barbell because it contours to the shape of their body and is not as intimidating as the other gravity-dependent devices, such as the cones or balls. Next in popularity are the cones, followed by the Benwa balls and rubber balls, and finally the spring devices. The spring devices are the most likely to come with instructional videos, as are they the most easily available to locate independent instructional videos.

Because PC muscle exercises for men require no supplemental devices and are easier to complete than the PC muscle exercises for women, there really is not a market for these instructional videos for men.
